The unique architecture of the Pantheon in Rome marks this place as one of the city’s true icons. Visiting it was quite confusing at first, but it was worth it to see the perfect sphere that still baffles architects today. After the Pantheon, we visited three basilicas: the Basilica di Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, which stands in front of an obelisk guarded by a small elephant, followed by the Basilica di Santa Prassede, and finally the absolutely incredible Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the four papal basilicas in Rome.
