We spent our first day in Marseille exploring its historic heart including the cathedral, the old port and the Château d’If, once a prison between 1541 and 1945. We ended the day at Plage des Catalans before unwinding with a drink in a cosy Irish pub. This is the first post about my four days in the south of France, exploring Marseille and Aix‑en‑Provence.
